About Special Little People Whilst my experience as an aromatherapist has been the driving force to my founding SLP - it is my being a mother - of three - that has been the catalyst to developing a range specifically to support children throughout life’s ups and downs.Smells have always played an important part in our lives, from delicious food smells, to new perfumes, to crisp sun-dried sheets; we have all talked about and shared our fondness – and at times aversion – to certain smells. We have noted how the often-pungent smell of the school canteen can put the hungriest of kids right off eating. We have sat on trains and pulled faces when a bad smell wafts by, we have rolled our eyes at the smell of the approaching seaside and we have been moved by the smell of our jasmine bush on a warm summer’s night. When the children first started going to school, I felt it would be a comfort for them to have a familiar, pleasant smell to take with them simply to reassure them that home was not far away. I used to get the children to pick their favourite oils and then we would blend some of them and put a few drops on a small hanky and off they would go. Sometimes they let their friends have a sniff, comments coming back for ‘more of the lemony one’ or the rose blend was so and so’s favourite. Our blends have been developed from old favourites that have worked really well for our children and their friends. Test marketing has been tremendous fun! We have six key blends and plan to roll out many more in the future. We hope you enjoy and love these oils as much as we do! |
